About the event
Inaccurate urban myths about Christianity have negatively impacted Black people receiving the gospel for years. Black religious identity cults (Moors, Hebrew Israelites, 5 percenters, Kemetics, etc) have seized upon this opportunity by promoting the false information that Christianity was forced upon Black people through slavery and that Christianity is not indigenous to people of African descent. This class will answer those claims and restore the dignity of Black people by demonstrating that the Bible intentionally contains an overwhelming amount of black presence. Our goal is not to "deify" or deny blackness, but to affirm the value of Black people by providing them with an accurate picture of the black presence as it is seen in the Bible. The information included in this class will prove beneficial to those looking to learn - as well as providing a useful resource for those looking to teach and share its contents during the rest of Black History Month and all throughout the year.
